Income Potential by Production Level

Income is based on flock size and egg production

We have a 5 Tier color coded system that is very easy to understand.

  • Tier 5 - Entry Level Producer (Red) - $1,750 - $4,000 Per Year

    • approx. 30–70 hens

  • Tier 4 - Growing Producer (Orange) - $5,000 - $20,000 Per Year

    • approx. 70–300 hens

  • Tier 3 - Mid-Scale Producer (Blue) - $22,000 - $45,000 Per Year

    • approx. 300–600 hens

  • Tier 2 - Large-Scale Producer (Green) - $48,000 - $140,000 Per Year

    • approx. 600–1,750 hens

  • Tier 1 - Gold Producer (Gold) - $150,000+ Per Year

    • approx. 1,750+ hens

Basic Requirements

  • Land suitable for pasture-raised poultry.

    • We require a rotational system. You must be able to effectively and intentionally move your animals

  • A willingness to follow our production system.

    • This ensures that our customers get the same quality product every time.

  • Daily management of birds and infrastructure.

  • Commitment to Animal Welfare and Land Stewardship.

    • Animal Welfare & Land Stewardship are absolutely non-negotiable. Folks tend to get the animal welfare part just fine, but ignore the health of the land. That is not regenerative and not a practice that our brand can stand behind.

  • Ability to meet buildout and startup requirements.

    • Chicken Tractors/Prairie Schooners most allow for a minimum of:

      • 4.80 sqft/bird if moved daily.

      • 9.60 sqft/bird if moved every other day.

      • 33.60 sqft/bird if moved weekly.

    • Chicken tractors very in price, but the brand we are utilizing currently costs around $1,250 for a 30 hen capacity.

    • If you intend on utilizing a Prairie Schooner please let us know.

  • Prospective producers should be located in Illinois and no further than 40 road miles from our location.

  • Minimum requirement of 30 hens. (Specific breeds)
